About Us

Riechers Farms is currently owned and operated by Bob, Ron, and Ryan Riechers. This is a family owned business that was started in 1847 by John and Mary Riechers.  John purchased the 80 acre farm across from the Union Church and Cemetery in rural Aurora. The house that is currently located on the farm was originally a post office and stage coach stop.  John and Mary had a son they named Cotton.  Cotton, together with his wife, Carrie, farmed until they retired around 1930.  This is when their son Ray and his wife, Freda, took over the farm, raising crops and milking cows.   Our current home farm was purchased in 1958 by Ray and Freda’s son, Robert.  Robert married LaVelle, and together they crop farmed, milked cows.  Bob also ran a can milk route rural Aurora.   Ron, Bob and LaVelle’s son, started farming in 1979. Ryan started farming in 2001. We are currently on our 6th generation farming and hope to keep it going. Our main focus is on crop farming but we do custom feed 15,000 head of hogs a year.
