Riechers Farms - Proud to be farming for 7 generations

The “Riechers Farms” is currently owned and operated by Ron and his son Ryan. This is a family owned business that began in 1847 by John and Mary Riechers.  John purchased 80-acres of farmland across from the Union Church and Cemetery in Northeast rural Aurora. The family’s farmhouse was originally a post office and stagecoach stop.  John and Mary later had a son who they named Cotton. Cotton and his wife Carrie farmed until they retired around 1930.  At that time, their son Ray and his wife Freda took over the family’s farm. They milked cows and harvested both corn and soybeans. In 1958, Ray and Freda’s son Robert purchased the farm. Robert – better known as “Bob” married LaVelle, and together they carried on the family tradition raising crops and milking cattle.  Bob was a very busy man farming as well as running a can milk route in rural Aurora area. Bob and LaVelle’s son - Ron, started farming in 1979 and in 2001 Ron’s son – Ryan began farming alongside him. Ryan is married to Julie and together they have 3 beautiful children. So the 7th generation of Riechers Farms legacy continues.
